MEA licensed overseas recruitment agency in Lucknow
A good mason lays a straight course without someone standing over them. A good welder's joints don't need redoing. That difference is what separates a cheap hire from a useful one, and closing it is our job. Every tradesperson we send has been tested on the tools, in person, before you ever see their name.
Overview
Semi-skilled workers are tradespeople. They've learned a craft by doing it for years, and some hold an ITI certificate, but they don't have an engineering degree. Masons, electricians, welders and heavy drivers are the classic examples.
KDA Hiring, an MEA licensed recruitment agency in Lucknow, supplies semi-skilled Indian workers to employers in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. Before anyone is shortlisted, they pass a practical trade test set around the employer's own job description.
Why we test
Anyone can write "8 years experience, steel fixing" on a page. What a Gulf site manager needs to know is whether that person can read a bar bending schedule and tie a cage that passes inspection. A phone interview won't tell you. Watching them do it will.
We've seen the other side of this. Contractors who hired without testing sometimes find that a third of a batch needs retraining or sending home. That means lost weeks, wasted visa costs and a crew that's short-handed just when the schedule is tight.
So every semi-skilled candidate who comes to us is tested on the tools. If they don't pass, they don't go on your list, however good their paperwork looks.

40+ trades
Grouped the way most of our clients think about them. Between these six areas we cover more than 40 trades, and we add new ones whenever an employer asks.

Wiring, piping and cooling. In Gulf heat, the AC technician is often the most popular person on site.
Steel structures, tanks and pipework for construction, plants and workshops.
Moving people, materials and equipment safely on unfamiliar roads and busy sites.
Cooks who can handle volume in camps, hotels and restaurants.
Keeping fleets and machinery running.
Trade tests
Each test is set around your job description, so these are examples rather than a fixed script. Pick a trade to see how we test it.
Welds a test plate in the positions your job calls for, whether that's flat, vertical or pipe. We check the bead and the joint before passing anyone.
ITI and NCVT certificates tell us someone has been trained. Experience letters tell us where they've worked. We verify both. Still, some of the best masons and painters we've placed never sat in a classroom, which is exactly why the practical test decides the shortlist.
Saudi Arabia asks workers in certain trades to pass an approved skills test before the visa moves forward. If your roles are covered, we prepare candidates for it and build the test into the timeline, so it doesn't catch anyone out later.

A rough rule: if the person will mostly do the work with their hands, semi-skilled is right. If they'll design, inspect or supervise it, you probably need a skilled professional.
| Compare | Semi-skilled | Skilled |
|---|---|---|
| Typical background | Years on the job, sometimes with an ITI certificate | A degree, diploma or professional licence |
| How we screen | Hands-on trade test | Credential checks, references and technical interviews |
| Typical roles | Mason, electrician, welder, driver, cook | Engineer, nurse, HSE officer, accountant |
| Who supervises them | A foreman or charge hand | Often supervises others |
| Time to deploy | Around the middle of our range | Can take longer, especially for licensed roles |

For employers
Good tradespeople get snapped up. These four things help us land them for you rather than for the next company.
"Welder" could mean a dozen things. Name the process, the positions and the material, and we'll test for exactly that.
Some trades bring their own hand tools, others don't. Knowing in advance avoids awkward first days.
Good tradespeople often have more than one offer. A clear, fair figure helps us secure the best ones before someone else does.
Your engineer is welcome in Lucknow, or on a video call. Clients who watch a test tend to approve candidates faster.
Sectors
Once your demand letter arrives, we source candidates and test them, then you pick the ones you want. Medicals, visa stamping and emigration clearance follow.

More than 40 of them, from construction and MEP trades to welders, drivers, cooks and mechanics. If your trade isn't listed on this page, send us the job description and we'll tell you straight away whether we can fill it.
Each welder completes a test plate in the positions and process your job needs. Our assessor checks the finished weld, and we can record the test so your QC team can look at it too.
Not always. Plenty of excellent masons and painters learned on the job. For electricians, welders and some MEP trades, though, many employers prefer an ITI or similar certificate, and Saudi Arabia's skill verification rules can require proof of training.
It's a scheme under which workers in certain trades must pass an approved skills test before their Saudi work visa can be processed. If your roles fall under it, we prepare candidates and book the test as part of the order.
Yes, and we'd encourage it. You can visit our Lucknow test sessions in person or join by video. Some clients simply ask for recorded clips of each candidate.
Usually 3 to 6 weeks from your demand letter. Testing adds a few days compared with unskilled hiring, and roles that need Saudi skill verification can take a little longer.
No. The employer pays our fee, and we never charge candidates for testing, processing or placement.
