# Construction manpower recruitment for Gulf projects

Most of our orders start on a building site. A contractor in Riyadh needs forty steel fixers by next month, or a villa developer in Muscat is short of tile fixers for the finishing stage. We find those workers in UP and Bihar, test them on the tools and send them over with their papers in order.

- Full crews or single trades
- Trade-tested
- 5 to 500 workers

## What is _construction manpower_ supply?

It's recruiting the workers a building project runs on. That covers labourers and helpers, tradespeople such as steel fixers and masons, and the foremen and engineers who supervise them.

KDA Hiring is an MEA licensed agency in Lucknow. We supply construction workers from India to contractors in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. Tradespeople are tested in person before shortlisting.

**5–500** workers per order

**₹0** paid by workers. The contractor pays our fee.

## What Gulf contractors tell us _goes wrong_

We ask every new client the same question: what went wrong last time you hired from abroad? The answers are surprisingly similar.

- **Wrong skills** A batch of "carpenters" where only half had ever built formwork.

- **Late arrivals** The right people, three weeks late, because one document was missing.

- **Early exits** Good workers who left in month two because nobody told them about camp conditions.

None of these are hard problems. They just need someone in India who checks properly, chases paperwork early and is honest with workers before they sign. That's the part we do.

### Where our crews come from

Eastern UP and Bihar mostly. A lot of our steel fixers and masons have already worked on big Indian projects, and some on Gulf sites before.

Lucknow is close enough that we can test them in person rather than over the phone.

- Eastern UP
- Bihar
- Lucknow

## Construction trades _we recruit_

Grouped roughly by where they fit on a project. Missing a trade you need? Ask. We add new ones whenever a client does.

### Structure

The people who get the frame up. Usually the first crew on site and the biggest.

- Steel fixer
- Shuttering carpenter
- Mason
- Concrete hand
- Scaffolder
- Welder

### Finishing

They come in once the structure's done. Clients tend to judge a building by their work.

- Tile fixer
- Plasterer
- Painter
- Gypsum and false ceiling fixer
- Marble fixer
- Aluminium fabricator

### MEP

Electrical, plumbing and HVAC. On most Gulf projects these trades decide whether handover happens on time.

- Electrician
- Plumber
- Duct fabricator
- HVAC technician
- Pipe fitter
- Fire fighting technician

### Plant and equipment

Operators and drivers for heavy machines. Licence history gets a close look here.

- Excavator operator
- JCB operator
- Crane operator
- Heavy driver
- Rigger
- Signalman

### Site leadership

The people who keep a crew organised and a job safe.

- Site engineer
- Foreman
- Charge hand
- HSE officer
- QA/QC inspector
- Quantity surveyor

### General support

Every site needs them, and lots of them.

- General labourer
- Construction helper
- Store keeper
- Watchman
- Cleaner

## Crews that arrive _when you need them_

Bringing everyone over on day one means paying finishers to wait for the frame. So on bigger jobs we plan arrivals around your programme. A typical pattern looks like this.

1. Phase 1 **Groundwork and structure**

Labourers, steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, masons and a foreman or two.

2. Phase 2 **MEP first fix**

Electricians, plumbers and duct fabricators join while the frame is still going up.

3. Phase 3 **Finishing**

Tile fixers, plasterers, painters and ceiling fixers. Structure crews can finish their contracts or move to the next job.

4. Phase 4 **Handover**

A smaller team of MEP technicians and cleaners for snagging and final clean.

Structure crews can finish their contracts or move to the next job while finishers arrive.

## How we test _construction workers_

Every test is adjusted to your job description. Pick a trade to see the usual one.

Test 01 of 06

### Steel fixer

Gets a bar bending schedule and ties a small cage from it. If the spacing's off or the laps are short, it's a fail.

- Reads the BBS
- Bar spacing
- Lap lengths

![Close view of a tied rebar column cage](https://kdahiring.com/siteadmin/images/construction/rebar-cage.webp)

Your engineer is welcome to watch in person or on a video call.

### Safety starts before they fly

Gulf sites run on permits to work, toolbox talks and strict PPE rules. Many Indian sites are more relaxed. So before departure we brief workers on what's expected, including working in summer heat and why the midday break exists.

- Permits to work
- Toolbox talks
- Strict PPE
- Summer heat

### Saudi skill verification

Plenty of construction and MEP trades bound for Saudi Arabia need to pass an approved skills test before the visa moves. We know which ones, and we build the test into your timeline.

**Share your programme** No paying for idle hands

## Helping us _mobilise faster_

Contractors who share these early usually get their crews sooner.

1. ### Share your programme

Even a rough bar chart helps. We can time each crew's arrival so you're not paying for idle hands.

2. ### Tell us about the camp

Workers always ask where they'll stay and whether food is included. Clear answers mean fewer drop-outs.

3. ### Say what PPE and tools you provide

Some contractors supply everything, some expect workers to bring hand tools. Either is fine if it's agreed beforehand.

4. ### Give us one site contact

Someone who can approve candidates and confirm dates. It saves days of back and forth.

### What construction trades does KDA Hiring supply?

Pretty much every trade a Gulf site needs. Steel fixers, carpenters and masons are the most requested, followed by MEP trades, finishing trades, plant operators and site supervisors.

### Can you supply a complete construction crew?

Yes. Many of our orders are mixed crews with labourers, tradespeople and a foreman. We can also send them in phases to match your programme.

### How fast can you mobilise construction workers?

Usually 3 to 6 weeks from your demand letter. Testing goes quickly for common trades. Visas and medicals take up most of the time.

### How do you test steel fixers?

They're given a bar bending schedule and asked to tie a small cage from it. Our assessor checks bar spacing, laps and ties before passing anyone.

### Do construction workers going to Saudi Arabia need a skills test?

For many trades, yes. Saudi Arabia's Skill Verification Program covers a number of construction and MEP jobs. If yours are included, we prepare candidates and book the test.

### Who provides PPE and tools?

That's agreed with you up front. Most contractors supply PPE on site. Hand tools vary by trade, and we make sure workers know what to bring.

### What if a worker can't do the job after arriving?

Tell us. If they leave or have to be sent back within 90 days, we send a replacement with no second recruitment fee.

### Do construction workers pay a recruitment fee?

No. The contractor pays our fee. Workers don't pay us anything.
